Oprah tiene una larga trayectoria en los medios de comunicación de los Estados Unidos y para éste libro releyó las columnas que escribió para su revista "O" durante 14 años, columna que tiene el mismo título que el libro. Es un repaso de lecciones que le ha dado la vida, porque como ella dice en su introducción cuando en verdad sabes algo resiste el paso del tiempo o dicho de otra forma la verdad es eterna e inmutable.
