About the Author
A. G. Mohan was a student of "the father of modern yoga," Yogacarya Sri T. Krishnamacharya (1888-1989), for eighteen years. He is the author of several books on yoga, includingYoga for Body, Breath, and Mind; Yoga Therapy; and Krishnamacharya: His Life and Teachings. Co-founder of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda, he is respected internationally as a teacher of rare authenticity and knowledge. He divides his time between Chennai, India, and Singapore. The ancient teachings of Yoga are simple yet profound. It is the aim of this wonderful, little book to restore that profound simplicity to the modern Yoga world. The emphasis is on intelligent focus and effort, not esoteric techniques. Action, wisdom and letting go, this is the Yoga path. There's a particularly nice chapter (= reminder) on positive transformation versus simply feeling good from your Yoga practice. Many practical suggestions are offered such as using mantra as your inner help line. The book is well written: clear, direct, and lively. It is filled with common sense and is wise and authoritative, as you would expect from A.G. Mohan, long time student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Just as when Mohan teaches there are many jokes along the way to both illustrate and lighten the reflections. A. G. Mohan is ably assisted in the writing by his son Dr. Ganesh Mohan. Together they have written a gem.

Fortunate enough to acquire an advance copy of Yoga Reminder at a book launch in Australia, I knew as soon as I began reading that it was a gem! A.G. Mohan presents the subject of yoga in a gentle and light hearted manner which in no way detracts from the potency of the message. As the title suggests, this book is a quiet reminder of the essence of yoga and offers many opportunities for self reflection. Yoga Reminder contains a great deal of wisdom gathered from years of practice and study, presented in a balanced, clear and easy to read format. It is an invaluable reference for serious practitioners and provides the newcomer to yoga with clear, practical and relevant information. Highly recommended!

I purchased this book at the book launch in Australia, March 2015.
In seven succinct chapters, this book presents a lucid and contemporary presentation of the essence of Yoga. Both lighthearted and enlightening, it is evident that A G Mohan has written this book from decades of practice and thought. Apart from a clear explanation on the workings of the mind, he gives us practical methods for undertaking regular practice with proper attention and reverence. Serious yoga practitioners are left in no doubt that when this is cultivated and strengthened over time, it leads to balance and clarity of the mind which is the original purpose of any true yoga practice.
